End of week/New week

Mar 6th, 2010 by Lee

I submitted last week to two more Lame Goat Press anthologies.

Novus Creatura

&

Don’t Tread on Me

So we’ll see how those pan out.

Been reading a couple of short story collections this week. Philip K. Dick’s Volume 5 of The Collectedf Stories and the man’s a top dog when it comes to sci-fi. And also been reading the Conan Chronicles. As fantasy is one of the genres I love to read but have never really written in. Raymond E. Feist’s Magician is in my top 5 books. And with the Sword and Scorcery 25 anthology looming ahead which I fancy having a go at it’s good preparation.

Have a good’en

Philip K. Dick. What a talent! Died far to young.

Good luck with the subs, Lee.
I also really like those first 3 books of Feist’s…I was a little disappointed he kept dragging the story along. Lost some of the magic.
Have you read the “Hellbound Hearts” anthology? They are based on Clive Barker’s original story and there are 21 tales from new and old authors alike. If you like Barker, they are deinitely worth a read!

Hey Paul – who’s the editor on that Anthology – i.e. how do you find it in the bookstore? HUGE Barker fan.

David, I agree, just reading his short stories makes you realise he had so much going on upstairs, proper genius.

Paul I loved the trilogy he did with Janny Wurts telling the story from the Tsurani side, also the latter trilogy Serpent War Saga was great, the rest seemed like a milking the cash cow escapade.

I’m with Chris on the Barker part, the Books of Blood are a must have for any short story writers shelf. And show me a person that didn’t enjoy Weaveworld and I’ll show you a dingbat.
